Here at the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre, we’re lovers of all things aviation! While our hearts will always belong to the classics, welcoming a new commercial airline to the region is something truly worth celebrating.

This Sunday, 19th October, Originair’s maiden flight into Blenheim is set to take off — and you’re invited to be part of this exciting occasion.

If you’re an aviation enthusiast or simply love the thrill of a take-off, head down to Marlborough Airport to join in the celebrations and witness a little slice of local aviation history in the making.

✈️ Event Programme

2:10 pm – Flight departs Nelson for Blenheim (approx. 15-minute flight time)

2:15–2:45 pm – Mingling and photo opportunities inside the terminal or from your favourite plane-spotting spot

2:25–2:35 pm – Nelson passengers disembark

2:45–2:50 pm – Ribbon-cutting ceremony with Marlborough Mayor Nadine Taylor

2:55 pm – Boarding for the Christchurch-bound flight

3:10 pm – Plane departs for Christchurch
