A book titled "VINTAGE AVIATORS Aircraft of the Great War Gavin Conroy" inside a bubble-wrapped shipping box.

Vintage Aviators, Aircraft of the Great War' coming soon!

Gavin Conroy, New Zealand's leading air-to-air aviation photographer releases his latest book.

Gavin Conroy's latest publication, 'Vintage Aviators, Aircraft of the Great War', is due in-store mid to late September! All of the aircraft featured are from New Zealand film director Sir Peter Jackson's collection at the Vintage Aviator in the Wairarapa, one of the most significant in the world.

Gavin started photographing WW1 aircraft in 2005 after reading about the heroic pilots who flew them. He started on the ground before moving to air-to-air photography in 2006. Since then, he has completed over 80 flights and around 40 hours of flying time in WW1 aircraft. This magnificent book is the result of those flights.

The stunning images of the aircraft, built to the exacting standards they were originally made over 100 years ago, are accompanied by text by David McDonald. McDonald brings to life the rapid development of these aircraft between 1914 and 1918 and the personal accounts of the modern-day pilots who fly them.

Vintage Aviators is a fascinating insight into a pivotal period of aviation history. This book is a must-buy for anyone interested in the early days of flying or the Great War. Click on the link to pre-order now!
