Omaka School Holiday Colouring Competition

Where colouring, creativity, and aviation history take flight.
Roy Boston, Omaka Guide & Marlborough artist had the difficult task of judging the winners in 2024.

Can we cover the windows again?

In 2024, our school holiday colouring competition took over the windows at Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre — and we loved seeing them filled with so much colour, creativity and imagination. This school holidays, we would love to see if our young visitors can do it again!

There are two age categories:

5–9 years

10–14 years

There are some great prizes up for grabs, including aviation-themed goodies, model kits, drink bottles, puzzles and more. Whether your aircraft is bright, bold, realistic, rainbow-coloured or completely imagined, we’d love to see it.

We have a colouring table set up inside the cafe, so kids can take part while they are here. It’s a great way to slow down, get creative, and add a splash of colour to your school holiday visit.

This is also the perfect time to make the most of the current GrabOne deal, giving 50% off entry to Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre! Families can explore the exhibitions, enter the colouring competition, and enjoy a fun day out together.

Afterwards, why not stop by the café for a treat, a hot drink, or lunch while you’re here? Nothing like a piece of lollycake to keep the holiday blues away.

So, can we cover the windows again?

Pick up your colouring competition entry form during your visit, bring us your best design, and help us make Omaka even more colourful these school holidays.

The Omaka Colouring Competition Challenge is open now!
